WATERTON NATIONAL PARK



DAY 13
23rd August 2011 Tuesday


We traveled from Kokanee PP to Waterton NP what a difference very ordinary with campers packed in, very dry.  Spectacular mountains all around.  We saw some deer on our way and when we arrived.




We crossed Lake Kootenay by car ferry, on our way we stopped at Fort Steele (steam railway museum).  At Sparwood we saw the worlds largest dump truck The Titan..

We also saw lots of wind farms when we crossed the border into Alberta.  Country is quite different dryer and flater.


We also saw the Frank Slide which occurred in 1903 30 million cubic metres of lime stone came crashing down fro Turtle Mountain and buried part of the town of Frank.
