5th OCTOBER 2013 AMBLESIDE

We had a drive around the Lake District. ending up at Sawrey and having a look through Hill Top, which was Beatrix Potter's house where she wrote most of her stories. Even had a resident Peter Rabbit.

We went on to Grasmere a nice little village where Wordsworth lived at Alan House which was set in a lovely bush setting.
The National Trust did very well from Beatrix and a few other well to do land owners in the area, who left all their land and wealth to the trust.
They have these very cute sheep called Herdwick native to the area.
Off to Blackpool tomorrow.
