TUESDAY 17TH JUNE 2014 LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK

This morning we set off from Darwin for Litchfield National Park a nice easy drive. Staying at Banyon Tree Caravan Park very nice among the trees, sausage sizzle tomorrow night, will be here for the next two nights.   Exploring Litchfield after morning tea.

WEDNESDAY18TH JUNE 2014 LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK

Going for another explore to-day and maybe a swim, the rock pools looked so inviting yesterday.
The magnetic Ant Hills where interesting much thinner then the ones we have seen so far . Wangi Falls lovely pool  had a nice sandy bottom and not too deep so had a nice swim .

THURSDAY 19TH JUNE 2014 KATHERINE

On our way to Katherine. Called in at Batchelor where the old railway station use to be and then Pine Creek to the Rail museum (very small two trains) and Mining Park Museum, then for lunch at Mayses hamburgers delicious . Went swimming  in the Hot Springs at Katherine.  Staying at The Hot Springs Caravan Park for the next two nights

FRIDAY 20TH JUNE 2014 KATHERINE

Saw sunrise to-day, going on a boat ride of Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge). Went for another 3k walk very hot but eventually a beautiful view of looking down on the gorge then some very steep steps down to the picnic area for lunch before going on our boat trip of two of the Gorges. Very beautiful.

SATURDAY 21ST JUNE 2014 TIMBER CREEK

We had morning tea at Sullivan rest area Visited  memorial Gregory National Park..
Arrived at Timber Creek lunch  time making good time to-day. Had Croc and Kite feeding at 5pm, saw 3 fresh water crocs they where quiet docile biggest about 21/2 metres.


A lot of the hills around here had these rock  ridges running around them.

SUNDAY 22ND JUNE 2014 KUNANURRA

We had a longer drive this morning then expected.  Stopping off to see Gregory"s Tree   which was 20k drive on unsealed road, was a bit concerned how the caravan would stand up to it, but seems to have been no trouble at all, and not much dust inside a lot on the outside to match everyone else!!

We are staying at The Kimberly Holiday Park caravan park on the lake hot here 32c
 Went to Wyndham Port where the five rivers meet.

TUESDAY 24TH JUNE 2014 KUNANURRA

Had a 5am rise this morning  to take a flight over the Ord  River scheme Bungle Bungles and Lake Argyle, Lake Argyle mine.

We took a bus trip around Lake Argyle and a jet boat trip on the Ord River with a lovely sunset to finish off with.  We went to the local pub for dinner  they had a trivia night going on we came third, won a bottle of wine
